Two years of struggle: how the «Foundation on Kindness & Love» works during the war

«Foundation on Kindness & Love», together with its partners and with the support of the Government of the country, works to ensure that as many Ukrainians as possible remain alive and save the lives of their loved ones during the war. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Fund has expanded its activities to six priority areas: humanitarian and medical aid, evacuation of the population from “hot spots”, support of medical facilities, assistance to the military, reconstruction of destroyed infrastructure.

Humanitarian help

Mykolaiv 

From July 2022, a large charity operation is taking place in Mykolaiv and 14 villages of the region, daily food kits weighing more than 12 kilograms are distributed to city residents and migrants. In total, more than 1,300 tons of rubber aid were distributed in the city since the beginning of the war

Kherson

Residents of the Kherson region also receive assistance from the Fund.

After the tragedy at the Kherson HPP, the following were sent to the city:
46 thousand liters of drinking water for the population
13 tons of food products
1200 sets for use
1,400 kits for liquidation of the consequences of hydroelectric power plant detonation

Kharkiv

More than 80 tons of food kits were provided
Help was also received in the villages of Kivsharivka, Kurylivka, Pidlyman, Oleksandrivka, Lyutivka, Vidrodenivske, Zavadske, Skoriki, Timofiivka, and Shirokiy Yar, which suffered from shelling and occupation.
About 20,000 free hot meals were distributed from the kitchen on wheels.

Odesa region

In Odesa region, during the year, residents of Starokozatsk community, Shabivska, Tatarbunarska Tarutynska, Sergiyivska, Kiliyska OTGs regularly received help
and other villages of Bilhorod-Dniester district. The humanitarian room of the «Foundation on Kindness & Love» was opened in the village of Kozatsk.

Kyiv and other regions

More than 30 tons of aid were sent to 20 regions of Ukraine for families with many children, low-income families, immigrants and people with disabilities.

Three charity Christmas events were held in Kyiv with gifts and humanitarian aid for those present.

Assistance to medical facilities and organizations

25 Ukrainian hospitals, in particular in Kyiv, as well as in the Chernihiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Lviv regions, received equipment worth over a million dollars from the Fund.

In addition to medical facilities, food, equipment and other necessary items received:
Bilhorod-Dniestrovsky boarding house, Central Synagogue of the city of Kyiv, Animal shelters in Kharkiv.

Protection of childhood and motherhood

Large families of migrants, single parents and mothers received help from the Fund in Kyiv region, Odesa region and Kharkiv. The children were provided with warm winter clothes and shoes, baby food, diapers and hygiene products. Organized by:

Children’s entertainment in the Tsirkunivska community in the Kharkiv region
A holiday for pupils of the Korostysh special boarding school in Zhytomyr region
Christmas holiday for children in the village of Vesela Balka in Odesa

Aid to the military

Foodstuffs, equipment for setting up positions, small stoves, and medicines are regularly sent to the front line. The Foundation took part in the construction of the “Center” command post in the capital.

Projects started during the war:

The project of construction of wells for water supply of the Regional Territorial Center of Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine, Kherson Regional Clinical Hospital and Bilozer Hospital has begun. Previously, the Fund also participated in the construction of wells in Mykolaiv.

Restoration of destroyed infrastructure. 16 residential buildings destroyed by the occupiers in the villages of Velyki and Mali Prohody in Kharkiv Oblast have been restored. And also about 20 houses in the Kyiv region.

Mobile kitchen, from which residents of Kharkiv and Kyiv region receive free lunches.

A program to support young mothers and expectant mothers has been launched in the Bilhorod-Dniester district. Every week they receive hygiene products, baby food, clothes and toys for their children.

The “Families of Heroes” project – more than 100 families who lost their husbands in the war received humanitarian aid and words of support from the foundation’s volunteers.

Support for the families of the captured defenders of Zmiiny Island continues.
